Admission Procedure:-
There are 120 seats in the B.Ed. programme. Until recently,
the B.Ed. course in the Govt.College Of Education ,Khandwa had
both components of teacher-education pre-service and
in-service. This was because until session 20012002,
admission to 50% seats was through State-Level Pre-B.Ed.
examination; conducted by the Professional Examination Board (Vyavsaik
Pariksha Mandal). Graduates with 45% marks were eligible for
the examination. The remaining 50% seats were reserved for
untrained departmental candidates. Their seniority was
calculated at the district education office, selections made,
and the lists were sent to the institution for admission. In
this way, both fresher and in-service candidates got training
together and competed in the same environment.
From the session 20022003, the backlog of untrained
departmental teachers forced the government to reserve 100%
seats for departmental candidates. Consequently, only
untrained teachers employed by the state government are being
admitted to the B.Ed. course.
